Clan Plagueis Master/Student Program

Bridging the gap between Apprentice and Dark Jedi Knight can be the most difficult and confusing time for a member of the Brotherhood. In an effort to assist the new members within Clan Plagueis, a Master-Student program has been established. In this program, approved veteran members of the Clan, well versed in instructional techniques, use their talents to educate and guide young Clan members. They take the members from the rank of Protector through Jedi Hunter, and then design the student's Knight Trials and guide them throughout those as well. The Master-Student program is a crucial part of Clan Plagueis' training operations. In order to maintain the integrity of the system, there are several specific procedures and regulations now in place and are outlined below.

Master Status
  1. In order to be a master, a member must be ranked at least Sith Warrior/Obelisk Templar/Krath Priest.
  2. Qualified members who wish to become Masters must apply, in a formal application, to gain “Master status.” Applications should be sent to the Consul, Proconsul and Clan Envoy who will review them and will make a decision. The reason for requiring an application for “Master Status” is to ensure that Clan Plagueis is receiving active, successful masters who can guide are new members.
  3. In addition, veteran Dark Jedi Knights may petition for ‘Master’ status and the Consul, Proconsul and Clan Envoy will consider each request on a case-by-case basis. A veteran Dark Jedi Knight should contact the Consul, Proconsul and Clan Envoy about consideration of attaining “Master Status” before applying for it.
  4. Upon receiving “Master Status” a master will be obligated to sign the Clan Plagueis Master Agreement to assure the quality of masters is assured within the Clan.
Master and Student Pairing
  1. In order to officially be a Student, a new member must reach the rank of Protector. The Clan Envoy will keep watch over the Clan roster, and will inform the pool of Masters (who do not already have students) that there are members who need Masters. The Masters will then contact the student and offer to take them on.
  2. A Master may be interested in a specific student. To request a specific student, contact the Clan Envoy, with reasons for taking on that particular student. Depending on the circumstances, the Clan Envoy may allow this or may not.
  3. Once paired, the Master will assist the student in fulfilling the promotional requirements to reach the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, while at the same time assisting the new member with any other issues they might have.
  4. The Clan Envoy oversees all Master-Student Pairs and the pairing of Masters with Students. The Clan Envoy has the final say in these matters and while consultation may be given from the Summits and House Envoys, these leaders do not have the authority to make any decision related to Master and Student Pairings.
Tasks and Trials
  1. During the student’s ascent to Dark Jedi Knight, the Master should start his preliminary planning for the student's Knight Trials as well. The Master will be responsible for designing one Minor task and one Major task for the student to complete. Both of these tasks need to be approved by the Consul, Proconsul and Clan Envoy in consultation with the House Summit before they can be given to the student for completion.
  2. Upon achieving the rank of Jedi Hunter, the member and his/her Master must petition the Clan Summit (in cooperation with the specific House Summit) for admittance into the Trials of Plagueis. The Clan Summit will then make the decision on whether or not to allow the Jedi Hunter access into the Trials of Plagueis. If the member is rejected, the Clan Summits will give a detailed explanation on why the refusal occurred and what steps the Jedi Hunter must take to gain admittance into the Trials of Plagueis. If the Jedi Hunter is accepted, he/she may then complete the Trial of Knowledge and the Trial of Skill.
  3. After the first two tasks in the Knight Trials are completed, the Master moves his student into the final parts of the trial, The Master's Trial and The Trial of Plagueis.
For more information on Tasks and Trials, please view the Master’s Guide and Tasks & Trials Guide.

Student Promotions
  1. A Master has final authority over the recommendation of a promotion of his/her apprentice student; however, the Master may not promote his student without the approval of the House Summit, Clan Summit and Clan Envoy.
  2. Upon completion of Protector, Guardian and Jedi Hunter requirements, the Master must submit the promotion request to the student’s House Summit, the Clan Summit and most importantly the Clan Envoy. The final decision of promotion rests with the Clan Envoy.
  3. Upon completion of the final trials, the Master and his Student submit proof of the student's work on his trials to the House and Clan Summits, including the Clan Envoy. If the Dark Jedi is deemed worthy, he will be promoted to Dark Jedi Knight with the approval of all Summit members.
Information for the Master
  1. A Master will typically only have one Student at a time, but there may be times that a Master may be called upon, or may request, to oversee more than one Student at the same time. However, no more than two Students will ever be assigned to any Master. The Clan Envoy along with the Clan Summit will determine if a Master may take a second student. The main reasons for allowing a Master to train a second student would be a large amount of Protectors-Jedi Hunters who do not have masters. Other cases may be allowed at the will of the Clan Envoy and Summit.
  2. While a Master is guiding a student, the master is obligated to contact the Clan Envoy on a weekly basis to inform him/her of the status of the student. This is in assuring that Clan Envoy is aware that the student is progressing successfully and in the proper time frames.
  3. The Clan Envoy is responsible for maintaining a list of all current Master-Student pairings. The Clan Envoy oversees all Master-Student pairs and works with all Masters to assure that their students are advancing properly and in a timely fashion.
  4. While the Consul and Proconsul are in ultimate control of both the Master-Student Program and the Knight Trials in the Clan, the Clan Envoy oversees these operations for both individuals.
  5. To assist Masters, the Master’s Guide and Tasks & Trials Guide has been created. To keep the standards of Plagueis Masters it is recommended that you utilize them.
